Solar Storm hitting today- possible northern lights?

    Thought there might be a thread on this already but didn't see one. Apparently a massive solar flare is hitting us some time today? It might have already happened. Been seeing stuff online saying it should amplify the aurora making it visible further south than usual.

    Skies are reasonably clear at the moment, so here's hoping. Anyone know anything else about this?

    I didn't get an Aurora watch alert so I checked on their website & no alerts have been issued for the UK.

    Space weather says a kp index of 6. The aurora forecast says 5. I'd say it could be viewed in parts of north Dublin depending on the intensity.
