Guys, I'm thinking of replacing my Giant SCR3 frame which I have always suspected to be a bit too big for me, medium size frame, 54cm effective top tube and I'm 5.7 and a bit!. Was thinking of getting Dolan Preffesio frame and was wondering if anybody has one and what their thoughts are regarding comfort and sizing. Any help appreciated.

I have a 50cm preffisio. I am 5ft 7/8 - a 50cm would seem to be small for someone my height but you have to take into account that the top tube on the 50cm preffisio is 54cm and at that size I have exactly the right amount of seatpost out of it - so the 52cm might have been just that little bit too big.

I love the preffisio - I bought it as a frame direct from Dolan and built it up with Ultegra 6600 and the older silver Krysium equipe wheels

It is comfortable, climbs well and descends like a rock. It is not the lightest but so what.

What I really love about it is you can ride it up lanes - get it covered in mud and it washes great due to the glossy paint finish - unlike the matt finishes on so many bikes now. It also has the versatility of taking full mudguards.

Hi Velogirl, apologies for excluding the fair sex, wrist firmly slapped. Thanks for the input, have discovered that the top tube of the SCR3 is actually 55cm, have tried a shorter stem but it just does not feel right. I was thinking that the 50cm Dolan frame would be right for me, effective top tube length 53.5cm, will probably need a 90mm stem. I was hoping that Wheelworx would have one to try.
