Want to replace two old standard panelled door with these.

As there are all ready locks and handles fitted is it a big job to fit them to the existing door frames. Would be getting a chippy to fit them.

Also would I be able to fit one in a Mazda demio hatchback.

    thanks.

Wouldnt say they would fit in that. They shouldnt be hard to refit but the lock wont fit your receiver in the old frames unless you ar extremely jammy. Id get your chippy to notch enough of the frame out so he can refit the reciever without the old holes showing. If you have painted frames this is straight forward. If you have varnished frames then it could look awful

you'd probably fit em in the car just leave down the backseats an if they don't fit completely you could just leave em hang out the boot an tie it so it doesn't spring up,as regards fitting them i can't imagine it being a major deal ,most of the catches are around the same height (give or take bout half an inch or so)so it should be fine in my opinion

This is true, the problem is what height are the mortice locks?? Id put money on t that theyre more than a half inch out.

Heights vary depending on the chippys preference. There are guidelines but no optimum height. This is also dependant on the doors midrail height as the lock cannot be drilled on a joint.

As for getting those in the car you posted.......they wont fit safely.

    some good pointers there, tnks.

with the backseats and passenger seat down they would fit all right, well one at a time anyway, but these door will be heavy and as you say they won't fit safely.

We were well able to fit a full sized UPVC door and frame into the back of a Leon TDI,close the tailgate down and drive safely home.

So you should have no problems with those doors in your car.

Unscrew the 2 door handles and take them off. This will take all of 1 minute.

A piece of bubble wrap in between both doors and you will be grand.

A ratchet strap for 5 euro from Aldi or Tesco,to secure the doors. Also 2 bungee cords and also a yellllow hi-viz vest on the tailgate door and you will be fine.;):)
