    Hello

I want to ask for your opinion.I am working part time and having jobseekers allowance.I work usualy tuesday, wednesday and saturday, sunday.Last month I was working on bank holiday the 4th of june.It was saturday 2,sunday 3,monday4,tuesday5,wednesday6.These are the days I was working. Before taking job on bank holiday on monday I called citizens information to ask if it will affect my social welfare payments.Lady on the phone told me that bank holidays are not working days fro social welfare and working that day it wont disturb my payment for that week.So I took the one work on monday.
Now,after a visit in social welfare yesterday I was told that I wont get paid for that week,as I was working 4 days.Who is wright here? And who to blame?I followed the advice of citizens information. What you think?

    Thanks

    Jo

If you worked on a public holiday, your employer was responsible for you being either paid double, given an extra days annual leave or a day off of some kind, with pay, soon.
A claimant cannot get JSB/JSA for a public holiday. Does that answer your query?

    Hello

Thank you.Yes,I was paid for that day, bank holiday.I was working only two hours. But why woman in citizen information said that it won't affect my jobseeker allowance for that week, and that is why I took them two hours work that day, where woman in social welfare said I won't get payment for the rest of the days in that particular week,as I was working too many days. And I think calls are recorded in citizens information,I was calling them.

The person in the citizens place was half right, If you had worked 2 days and the B/H Monday, you would have been paid for 2 days dole.

But once you work 4 days, that's it no dole.

    Stupid isnt it?
