    Hi,

Looking to pick up a decent re-usable water bottle. Been told that Sigg is the one to go for. Any ideas where I'd pick one up in Dublin? Been looking online and it's hard to find anywhere that doesn't rip you off on the shipping! Thanks!

IMO you'd be better off taking a look at Klean Kanteen. They are stainless steel rather than aluminium so you don't have to worry about taking extra care of the liners and than can, if you are so inclined, be put over a flame to heat contents. Downside, they will be heavier.

Agree with this^....Sigg liners are known to leach Bisphenol A (BPA)....stainless steel is the healthier choice over aluminium for this reason.

Try these ,they have an excellent range:http://www.afinechoice.co.uk/

The lining on the inside of the aluminium.

As the bottles are made of aluminium the inside of the bottle is lined to prevent leaching oxides into the water.
OK, can't say I'd actually noticed, it must be pretty thin.

I picked one up yesterday in the Trinity Science Gallery (of all places...) Extremely happy with it, have always wanted a proper water bottle.

Incidentally, can you only put water in them or can you put soft drinks, hot drinks etc without ruining it?

    Hi Guys

I'd like to get a new lid for my SIGG bottle Just the regular screw to p cap

    https://www.sigg.com/de_ch/screw-top-black.html

Don't really want to order such a little thing online. I checked the scoutshop and 53 degree website but it looks like they do not offer SIGG Bottles, so propably also no spares. Anyone know of a shop in Cork that stocks them?

    Thank you

I bought one online from Jackson Sports in 2012, and postage is free, so no extra costs. I can't see it on their website now, but it might be worth ringing them or dropping them an email.

So the reason for wanting a new lid was that the plasic ring on the Lid looked a bit mouldy and the bottle was smelly + the water did not taste fresh.

I have soaked the lid in Dettol Mold and Mildew remover and it seems to be fine again...

FYI you can also buy the seals separately ...

They also do cleaning tablets for the bottles, but I don't suppose there's anything special in them. I got a bunch of them for free with the last bottle I bought, although that was in Germany.
