I recommend choosing something based on what your favourite genre is to play online.

I once played COD against a guy with the username "GlobalWarming". Everytime he got a kill it would come up "You have been killed by GlobalWarming". I thought that was brilliant, but it would only be at its funniest in a FPS.

"HerdOfMidgets" was also a favourite.

My advice, when thinking up a name, would be to avoid the use of numbers and letters like 'x' and 'z' if they aren't necessary.

Two reasons:

1.) Numbers rarely look good in a username.
2.) Chances are it's the year you were born. You're spreading personal information across the world every time you join a lobby.
