Im assuming thats a 1.6 Diesel Focus, if thats the case go for the 90bhp one w/o the expensive gubbins that go wrong

I thought all 1.6 diesel focuss had expensive gubbins that go wrong?

How'd do you end up choosing between a petrol focus and diesel golf?

If you dont mind the road tax Golf all the way. That 1.9 TDI is almost bulletproof.

Depends also on the mileage? Diesels hate short runs around town.

That's honestly what I thought was being compared, a petrol focus v a diesel golf. It's a comparison I often make myself, the heart wants a focus 1.6, the head says diesel golf. I find the focus 1.6 to be a great drive for a shopping grade car, its a blast to just drive. Handles well and not much goes wrong. The inner more bore says diesel golf tho.

Focus every time. The Golf wouldn't rate besides the Focus, unless silicone damped grab handles are that important to you. Admittedly the 1.9 TDI is probably one of the best versions of the Golf, but then again, the 1.6 is probably the best model in the Focus range too.

Ever considered the 1.8 TDCI Focus? get the 115 hp version. Lovely car.
