    Hi,

I'm looking to purchase a replacement radio for a Massey Ferguson 5455. I am still awaiting a tool to remove the broken radio however on the outside it would look quite narrow compared to a car radio which I have seen mentioned as a replacement on boards.

Would any one happen to know that type of radio that would fit a MF 5455 (long shot I know), or failing that is there a site which specialises in this sort of thing?

I've spent quite a while googling to no avail.

    Thanks in advance.

mine did the same, pull it out and theres a red and yellow wire that can plug apart, swap them over and itl stop cutting out but you will no longer be able to turn on the radio without the igination turned on.

and to the op, you need something long and narrow to slide in the 2 small rectangle holes either side of the radio, sumit similar to a four inch nail grinded flat, once you push em in the clips will pop and it will slide out, its a standered connection on the back so 90% of radios out there will plug in. youl need an adaptor if your using a radio out of certain brands of cars, but all motor factor radios ectra will plug straight in.

Ours is a VDO CR 721x, actually used to work grand but water got in at the aerial. Surprised Blaupunkt would give you trouble, thought they were a good brand of radio.

Ours is different to that, the front flips down and there are four security screws which I haven't been able to source a tool for yet.

Would I need to reduce the voltage or anything, or is the connection reduced to 12v already?

Thanks for your input lads, afraid I might end up getting one off a MF garage, last time I checked they were looking for 80 quid for one.

edit: by that, I mean different to yours, the pic is the one currently in the tractor

I fitted Radiomobile recently - without a CD player and found it perfect.

They only cause problems using a CD anyway (jumping on rough ground) dirt / dust getting into the radio.
Also its a shorter radio ideal for limited space on roof linings
    Sparex Part No s.28345

USB MP3 & Aux plug to play your music from iPhone / iPod

Cheers man but I'm going to do the same as you. Have a sony bought with front Aux but might change it for one with bluetooth.

Do you have any tips for changing it or anything you wish you knew before you started? Going to have to buy a new aerial too as old one got ripped off.
