I'm finding this forum very dull. There is so little happening.

It's no wonder that people resort to discussing abortion and homosexuality.

read the bible it's a great for stories to keep you occupied while you wait for something 'interesting' to happen on this forum

This forum admittedly dissappoints, but it is our responsibility to make it better. I'd much rather discussions about God and the nature of His character in His word over discussing homosexuality or abortion. Unfortunately both many non-believers, and many Christians feel the need to bring these topics up time and time again.

First poster is right. We should be spending more time with our heads in the scriptures and the Sacraments than wasting much of our time discussing and arguing over things.

but yeah this forum is usually hush hush from time to time.

    Even this thread is boring.

Hey I just posted and my word in my post ''more'' was highlighted as if I inserted a link which I didnt. It led to some survey thing for winning an Ipad. Whats that all about ? Now thats interesting. :D

It's an inevitability that this should occur. Religious views in homosexuality are generally quite hurtful, and so it is natural that they be discussed vigorously.

Have you recently installed software? I would check your browser toolbar options and disable any addons you don't recognise.

Tired of the same ol' threads on science, homosexuality, and the same ol' swings and roundabout discussions on same. I now spend more time at CAF and similar fora!

To be honest I like to spend more time here than CAF. I guess it is because ( in my head ) I like to spend time with more Non-Catholics than Catholics. CAF is awash with over the top die hard Catholics ( religous fanatics ) who are more inclined towards sspx than anything else. I keep my distance from that forum. I use it only for asking questions in the ''Ask an apologist'' section. Or for a bit of reading from time to time.

And although I find this forum dull from time to time I do secretly enjoy it and post a lot more on it than CAF.

By the way I could have a virus on my computer. I should look into it.

    :D

I like this forum. It is what it is, and it's very different to other forums where you get a backslap for saying the right thing that the majority agree with all the time...lol...I think this forum is a mixed bag and that's the way it was designed and meant to be? As soon as you realise this, than you start to talk and listen - cool!

I really like some of the personalities that post here, it takes a little time to get a small picture of very real people out there :) one tends to forget that it's very real people posting - how cool!!! Seriously!

However, I really like some of the regulars, and I'm glad to be able to read their point of view and think on it when it deserves thinking on, and argue when it deserves arguing..lol... it doesn't matter the point of view, but the 'personality' of the forum is what it is.

I don't like the thanks seeking dim fly by element. That's the hard to rise above bit.

However, there is something good about this forum too.

It's like a rural railway station, but not as relaxing or pleasant and without the birdsong. The odd train passes at speed or if you're lucky a train might stop. The odd pigeon lands on the platform... It pecks around for a bit, but flies off, bored.

But it's no surprise that both subjects are big topics of discussion - they touch on the very nature of Christianity.

That might be a cause of the boredom. You people should loosen up. And aren't you supposed to give a warning or something before deleting reples?

No, I'm not supposed to give a warning before deleting posts. But I am giving you a warning not to discuss moderation inthread, OK? In future, if you have an issue with moderation, please address it via PM or in Feedback.

You're right. It's extremely dull. But that's religion for you. If catholicism were a biscuit, it would be a Rich Tea. The gay community, on the other hand, are like Jammie Dodgers or some other snazzy companion for a cup of tea. :)

I wander in here the odd time to see if there's any interesting threads. It's disappointing.

Someone mentioned burying your heads in scriptures and biblical texts? Talking about current events and topics would be far more interesting IMHO.

Jammy Dodgers are OK, but I prefer happy faces. But I get tired of them after a short while. Rich Tea is a more lasting biscuit.

Why don't you liven things up by starting a thread?

    That's an interesting analogy..

I don't think he is a Troll ( love that word..lol...I learned it here on boards when I was called one a couple of years ago, I thought they were talking about 'Trollies' as in shopping ones at the time...strange creatures with Einstein hair, sometimes are sold in Tuhills as decorations for your kids pencils in school.......anyway..)...I don't think he is a Troll. I think he is deadly serious, but very young, and pissed off with the world, who isn't? and maybe also very easy to 'pick on' because he stands out so much - it's like picking ripe grapes and thinking you're great for pulling them right off the branches when you pick on somebody who posts like this. I don't think it's exactly a 'win' it's just an easy target - Still though, I hope he is not just an attention seeker - any attention will do.

To be honest as a female, I'm glad, in some ways, that the topic was brought up because even though the guy who started this thread may be deadly serious on the Christian forum, you will find a very similar attitude to women at times in many walks of life - and one doesn't have to be Christian - that's the truth.

Bty, this forum is not boring - there are some real gems post here.
