Walker WP2612LCD TVs selecting wrong TV system for Ireland?

    Received a phonecall from someone with a Walker (Saorview approved) TV bought some months ago WP2612LCD.

    Digital working fine but the complaint with it was that analogue reception had no sound.

    When questioned by me (knowing what the problem probably was) he was quite adamant that he had definately selected Ireland on inital setup of the TV and scanned for both digital and analogue channels. (Analogue is required for RF output of sky box in another room)

    The TV was indeed somehow in System B/G mode (as for most of mainland Europe) for analogue, after explaining the issue to him he managed to change it from System BG to System I (in Install & Retune -> manual tune etc)
    However if Ireland was selected it should have been in System I (PAL-I) mode (for UK/Ireland) to start with ??

    Has anyone else seen this problem with these TVs??

    Yes. A Walker and its cousin the Lidl Silvercrest.

    It appears if you do an analogue and digital retune/scan the sound reverts to BG, only a full reset and Ireland install restores the correct sound setting for analogue. If I need to do a rescan now I select digital only, only 103 days of analogue remaining in any case.
