A few large field races tomorrow including the John Smith's Scottish Stewards' Cup, John Smith's Silver Cup Stakes and er John Smith's Cup (Heritage Handicap series) so plenty of opportunities for a decent priced winner or two. Obviously the going is going to be an issue with soft even heavy conditions.

    Looking at

    14.25 Crankentorp (again!)
    15.00 Area Fifty One

    14.40 Excellent Guest N/R :(
    15.50 Lyric Ace

    19.15 Fast Shot

I like Strong Suit in the July Cup at 11/1. A top 7f horse who likes soft ground, it's well worth taking a chance at the price on him being back to form and being suited by the all out 6f pace of the sprinters.

EDIT : Confirmed runner this morning by Richard Hannon Jnr although he's now only 8/1.

Strong Suit wants top of the ground and would expect him to be a non runner tomorrow if ground is soft.

I like Olympic Glory in the 2.10 @ Newmarket, the only question is how he handles the ground

Want to see what you have to say about Orsippus Rossom.

    Fancy him myself.

You're dead right, I was confusing his ground preference with that of Hannons other 7f Specialist Paco Boy who retired years ago.:o

Right, going to make a proper legit attempt at a tip.

    1:40 Newmarket - Chapter Seven @ 12/1

I reckon this horse could have a big say in the opener at Newmarket tomorrow. He last won at Doncaster off a mark of 88 and the going was soft on that occasion as well. Form on soft ground is quite good and off a mark of 92 and with Paul Hanagan taking the mount for the first time I think he's worth a gamble each way.

    4.20 Newbury - Qaraaba 3/1

Still think there is more in the tank, held up near rear last time and left with way too much to do.

The N/Rs list is pretty big now - the Newmarket 15.55 is a 3 horse race as I type.

For me today i'll be having a little bet on:
    Ortensia 3.20
    Sohar 5.05
    Media Hype 3.00
    Prohibit 3.35
    Hawridge Star 5.30

An each way lucky 31 for a bit of interest for the day and a nice €90,000 if they come in! :D

Mayson-nothing worse than seeing a horse you've followed all year winning at a price and not a penny on him.

Body and Soul pulled me out of a hole today, Qaraaba could put me ahead!

Qaraaba looked awfully tired. Wouldn't be surprised if that was her last outing of the year or at least for a few months.

rubbish day all round, anyone think Eye Of The Tiger 17:05 Newmarket might be worth a punt with so many withdrawals?

Was anyone watching Jamie Spencer on Treaure Beach in the Man Of War at Belmont half an hour ago? Out the back off a very slow pace which resembled a crawl. Utterly clueless jockey.

(I didn't have a bet on him so I'm not talking through my pocket)

wouldnt have mattered where he had him positioned
no jockey would have won on him
he didnt run his race at all but saying that it wasnt a
    very good ride either

I agree with everything you say but it seems to me that Spencer only has one way of riding and that's hanging out the back whether the pace is slow or fast. He did the same with Fame And Glory in the Ascot Gold Cup. He hasn't got a riding brain in his head.

    that one hurt a lot
really couldnt see past f&g that day
was my biggest bet for a while

I really thought i was going to collect when the first 2 won. still made a profit with the double so not too bad. i dont think treasure beach was 100% it was a bit too bad to be true. but thats horse racing.
The only thing that i cant figure out though is, any time i do a trixie and get 2 winners its always the shortest price horse that gets beat.
