Sash windows

    Hi all,

I have been looking for dimensional proportions of sliding sash on the forum but didn't find any.
Is there an exact proportion of sash windows that should be used? Some sash windows are long and narrow, others are a bit wider. It changes the rectangular frame of glass in the panels. It seems like the windows that are twice the height as the width seem best? Any opinions?
A lot of sliding sash photos on the internet seem to be fitted afterwards in house, and some don't look right
