Round 10 of the Meath Road Race Series takes place in Oldcastle next Wednesday for the Marie Monaghan Memorial Cup. €12 entry for Seniors and €6 for Juniors.

Not involved with the host club but ran it last year and found it a well organised and enjoyable event so looking forward to running it again this year. Any other boardsies planning on running this?

It starts in the middle of the town and the first k consists of you running straight down a hill and then take a turn around a housing estate before going back up the hill. It then goes out country roads and is relatively flat from what I remember for the next 2k before a downhill stretch. The race then finishes on a gradual incline which is not ideal but at least at that stage you know you can go flat out with the finish not too far away. Not the fastest course in the world but not as tough as South O'Hanlon I'd say.

I wish you meath people would stop tempting me with midweek 5k runs. Might have to give this one a go as I enjoyed the last one, the south o'hanlon 5k a couple of weeks ago.

Are you sure about it not being as tough as the South O'Hanlon course, looks to be more hilly

Actually looking at it now the hills look a bit more severe than I remember. I ran both last year and thought afterwards that the Oldcastle one wasn't as bad but maybe I was having a good day so didn't notice them as much.

Is it easy to find St Brigid's AC when you get into Oldcastle?

There was plenty of signs and marshalls around last year so would expect the same again. The registration actually takes place in a hotel in the middle of the town beside the start line.

It's raining and I'm pleased - just perfect for running!

Well done to St Brigid's on a well organised and enjoyable race. Weather conditions were almost perfect as it wasn't too warm and only a little bit of rain at the start. A good few ups and downs including a killer hill up to the finish

Dunleer's Martin Quinn continued where he left off in Bohermeen with a pretty comprehensive win while Becky Woods of Clonliffe was first woman home.

Delighted with my own performance as I managed to unexpectedly sneak under 20 mins :D

    Results here.
