What to buy?

    Hi there

I am currently buying a laptop and the following has taken my interest:

    http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/LENOVO-G570-156andquot-Laptop-Gun-Metal/310323/301

Would anybody please advise me on whether this is a good deal or not?

Is Lenovo a good laptop? Does it have good build quality? What about their customer service? Same goes for PCWorld?

If you know of a better alternative laptop I would be extremely grateful. Ideally, the purchase will be made as soon as possible; ideally this weekend (but that is not absolutely essential).

I am also interested in refurbished laptops, and would be very open to extended warranties if they are value for money. I think 1 yr warranties are short.

Thank you for any help and advice

I'm going to chime in as I've been asked to get a decent laptop for my parents for up 500ish euro. I've had a Asus years ago that I liked very much and it still works.

What are the batteries like on the above mentioned laptops? Where is a good place to buy?

    Thanks Jarren.

We are reluctant to go with a Toshiba because we had a terrible experience with a toshiba earlier this year and ended up getting a refund.

Also, saveonlaptops appears to be a UK site. Do we run a risk by ordering from the UK?
-Will the customer service be a nightmare because we are 'abroad'?
-Will we have to pay extra excise/customs fees?
-Will our warranty still be valid even though we are non-UK?

    Thanks for your help

No,no risk ordering from them at all, customer service may ask you to deal with
manufacturer directly if something goes wrong,no excise/custom fees and your warranty will be valid.

Check the reviews of above laptops regarding battery life,I would recommend strongly to purchase a lappy from Amazon based on their superb customer service. No issues with refunds/replacements because you will be dealing with them directly.
