    Hi, everyone.

I am a Chinese and I have just got my Master degree, and I am writing to consult which type of visa should I apply.

I am very interested in the research area of two professors in Trinity College Dublin and want to pursue a PhD position under their supervision. I have contacted them but they don't have an available position in their labs at present. However, they provides me a research assistant position in their labs and promised to offer me about €1800 per month for about six to eight months, and they will give me a PhD position next year when it is available. So, I wonder which visa type should I apply? Did everybody face a similar situation with me? I would be very appreciate it if you could give me some information.:)

If you will be working with one of the supervisors through an arranged employment contract, you are most likely to apply for Hosting Agreement (a type of work permit for Researchers).

Again, you would need to check with your supervisors, who would be in a better posistion to help you out.

    Atif
