First properly unreliable Toyota? Well, it will have BMW's brutally unreliable diesels as an option:D!

For what it's worth, I think the interior is a massive improvement on the current model, but that wouldn't exactly be difficult.

Hopefully since this is the first mainstream car developed since Akio Toyoda came to power that it will live up to his promise of Toyota making cars that are fun to drive. I think it looks quite good, but I have this terrible feeling it will be like your average Toyota to drive - where it's as if the engineers were told to go deliberately out of their way to make the car as uninvolving and uninteresting as possible to drive and remove every possible sensation that could be associated with driving pleasure.

I quite like the retro shiny black dash with the olde style vents and big ignorant door handles. It actually all works.

The Auris never sold the figures here that the hatchback Corolla did, they should do what they did in Australia and just call it the Corolla, some buyers want a Corolla because they always had one and if there's no hatchback bearing that name they don't trust it, here's what the Auris is sold as in Oz...

You could call it anything and it still wouldn't be a good car

They sell well over here when you take the corolla and auris sales into account.

    Looks like a Hyundai

Or the bastard child of a puris-yaris

Nothing new or original here. Front looks similar to the current Honda Civic:

Rear quarter looks like the i30:

Do they intentionally copy whats already out there or do they simply have no inovation?

Toyota must make the most boring cars on the planet.

    Experts in Irish spec too.

Well it certainly will be when Toyota Ireland get their hands on it and bring in all the horrible Paddy spec ones! I suppose Toyota Ireland will still refuse to fit that most basic of features, air conditioning, as standard on the poverty spec Paddy spec versions too, even though its rivals all have had it as standard for donkeys years?

In 2016 they will add black headlights, have chrome on the tailgate and slightly change the rear lights. They might add standard aircon then.

Spiritual successor to the Nissan Tiida. The Koreans must be laughing their asses off at that effort.

Absolutely shocking stuff. The rear of the estate version genuinely looks like something from about 2000.

Irish Farmers will absolutely lap this up for some bizarre unknown reason though.

Front end has more than a hint of Lexus CT about it

Jesus the Corolla is absolutely shocking looking. At least the new Auris looks quite okay this time, especially inside.

It doesn't matter what any of us think though, the idiotic public at large will lap it up in this country - the 'Corolla' nameplate will ensure that that is what will happen.

The Corolla and Axio in the JDM are two seperate models. This looks like the new Corolla we will get over here:

I thought it was just a photo shopped Avensis but the A pillar looks different and the front overhangs appear shorter.

The Audi approach to design.. place picture of car on copier..press 'reduce' or 'enlarge' as required.
