Its mainly down to cost. There's a lot more man handling in the block and beam floors. They are used more often in refurbishment work or where access is very restricted. In a lot of cases now the delivery lorry is equipped with a high-jib that will lift the typical pc slabs used on most domestic new builts without the need for an additional crane.

Plus, in some applications, RC slabs with screed have higher load bearing capacity.

so on block and beam you still have to insulate and pour your screed on top obviously?but you can still build block walls on top of the beams i presume?p/c is a lot less expensive?
