What is the best way to get your bench press from from 110kg to 120kg

Low reps, high weight or high reps with a lower weight

How often do you need to do bench press a week? 2 to 3 times?

Assuming you work all other muscles e.g. triceps, back, shoulder etc

keep starting new threads and the muscles in your fingers will make the muscles in your arms bigger, meaning you'll be able to shot put further, which will help improve your rotor cuff and make you bench 130

    5,3,1 program.
    google away.

low reps lots of rest between sets, and patience.

That all depends on how solid or not your 110kg bench was.

If your technique is not as good as it could be (not talking comp technique) then IMO a few pointers on technique and the optimum warm-up to 1rm weights it could be 1 session away or a month or two.

The right day and atmosphere can produce unexpected results - one key point is having complete faith in your spotter(s).

i broke 120 by accidentall putting 120 on the bar when i ment to put 100
thought it was a bit heavy but put it down to a weak day "knew" i could push it so i did

don't worry i train in a cage with catch bars

Funny you mentioned that, I was in the gym yesterday and I said I'd change my program just to shock the system for one day

Instead of doing low reps I tried a few higher reps of what I thought was 85kg

But when I checked the bar afterwards it was 90kg

Now, 12 months ago I could barely do 50kg a few times

So it just goes to show how your head plays such an important role

I do think its easier to go from 50kg to 100kg then it is to go from 100kg to 120kg

As the weights go up the progression is harder.

Trev - I would use the 120 merely as a stepping stone to the real goal of 140kg!

It will come - I did some big leaps - every now and again all I can say is if you hit a purple patch ride it as far as you sensibly can.

IIRC I went from about a 195 - 227.5 in 16 weeks, slowly gone done ever since mind but that's another story! :D

    195 christ that's awsome

Well I will never see that kind of lift, squat yeah but not bench

    Even 140kg seems huge

Sure I will keep working away
