    The media seem to think the ordinary person do not understand the significane of the above and other matters like Joint and Several Liability. Just wondering are they underestimating our general knowledge.

    Although many do understand, I would think the general public would not generally understand this issue and the terminology

    Personally I always find the idea of a non recourse loan tautologically odd; it should be referred to a limited recourse loan (limited to the asset or whatever). A true non recourse loan would in fact be a gift!!
