    Hi all,

Looking to get a UK FTV card, currently living in Ireland. I got one last year from a friend in the UK when it was possible to order them on Sky's website, but whats the current best and cheapest way to get one?

I have a spare box in a room and would be handy to have the UK EPG instead of going to other channels all the time.

Old tip here if you search, you can pretend your from Northern Ireland to Sky give them your normal Irish address but throw in a UK postcode or similar onto address and it more than likely arrives at your door. You then have to call Sky to activate the card and have it married to your box, so you call sky hiding your phone number, you pretend once again your from NI and then your done. :D

Was going to try that but the link to order a card on their website doesnt work anymore! :(

Can I ring them up and order one?

EDIT, the link works now again so its still possible to order the card from Sky's website. Huzzah! :)

Just got this reply, will have to ring them. Also worried about the part that says it could have an affect on current viewing if i already have a Sky sub:

Thank you for contacting Setanta Sports.

We have received your request for a FTA viewing card under the BAI Sound and Vision Scheme.

The BAI is the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and Setanta broadcast a number of documentaries in funded by them, examples include The Club, An Exile’s Home in the Bronx, Man on A Mission and Yes I Can.

Please be advised that Setanta Sports is a subscription service and if you wish to view our fantastic sporting content then please contact us to discuss the subscription package options available. You will NOT receive our sporting content under the Sound and Vision scheme.

We are happy to order a card for you however this card will only function in a compatible SKY set top box and if you have an existing Sky viewing card then you will already have access to the content we broadcast in conjunction with the BAI Sound and Vision Scheme. We must also advise that if we request a card for you and you do have an existing Sky card then this may cause loss of service on your current viewing card.

We have the best premium live sport on TV including top flight Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League football, the best golf action from the Masters and the Open exclusively live, deferred coverage of the Rabodirect Pro 12 and action from the GAA.

If you wish to proceed with ordering the FTA card we would need you to contact our customer service department.

We are open from 9:30am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

    Regards

    Customer Services Department
    Setanta Sports

What EPG is on the BAI card? Is it the Irish one?

It's criminal that the BAI is promoting a Pay TV channel and Sky with Licence Fee tax money. It's not a FTA card or FTV card. It's either a Sky (UK) or Setanta/Sky (Ireland) pay Tv card awaiting subscription details. "puppy dog" Marketing.

BAI and Comeg both are incompetent.

Already had a white FTV card at home, so all I had to do was whip that card out and pair it to the other box, restart the box and I get the UK EPG.

Not interested in LFCTV etc just wanted the channels as 101, 102 etc. All sorted now! :)

For some reason my box has RTE 1 as 101 with no card inserted, so a temporary pairing to a UK FTV card, restart the box and pull out the card should leave it with BBC as 101 permanently.

That won't work long term, when ever box is powered off it will revert back to Irish EPG, you should leave the UK card in the box permanently.

How will it know it should be the Irish EPG if there's no card and no phone line connected?

Did a firmware upgrade of the box last night after i took the card out, powered it down a few times and worked fine. It's kept in standby anyway 99.9% of the time so should be ok
