Facebook - Subscribers, Likes & Shares...

    I'm sure by now everyone who will read this will have seen several times on their news feed that one of their friends has shared, commented or liked a picture which has hundred of thousand of likes and its posted by a person who has several hundred or thousand subscribers. Some even have those really annoying ones ''Like and facebook will donated 1$'' bullsh** which puts a picture of a disfigured or diseased human/animal which we all know again bullsh**... or a new one ''like and get friend requests'' blah blah..

    Anyway... to get to my point why the hell do these people bother? is there some sort of profit making system like youtube views/subs that I'm unaware of? Or are these people just starving for attention?

    Surely this scale of narcissism does not exist without a propose.

    Same as all the idiots that post things like:
    may I ask a personal favour, only some of you will do it (and I know who you are). If you know someone who has fought cancer and passed away, or someone who is still fighting, please add this to your status for 1 hour as a mark of respect and remembrance..

    I know only 2% of you will do this, but this is an issue that really means a lot to me, so if you could just take a minute to read this I'll be really greatful. As you know, Pandas are an endangered species, and there is a real danger that in just fifty years they'll be wiped off the planet altogether. So clearly the best thing to do is kill them all off now, so that we can get the grieving out of the way and not be worrying about it for fifty years. Just post this as your status for an hour to raise awareness of the need to kill pandas ASAP, and together we can make the world a much better, panda free place.



    Since seeing the first one of those on my timeline earlier, I've decided to introduce a two strike policy. First time you post it, I'll post a comment explaining why you're an idiot wasting the internet's valuable electrons by posting it. Second time, it's a direct unfriend/unsubscribe.

    I think I'll only have about 2 friends left on Facebook by the end of the month, but TBH if they're posting that sort of crap then I'm probably better off.


    /rant.

    (sorry for that rant, just this thread was bumped at the EXACT time when I've just snapped at the idiocy of people.)
