    hi.just spotted what i think was the i.s.s passing overhead (ive seen it before)disappeared into light pollution heading north..then about six seconds later another tiny pin of light heading north on the same path..confused?any ideas?

    At the moment all the ISS passes here are in daylight and not visible, visible passes start again on the 23rd of this month.
    Sorry for the disappointment.
    You can put your location in here >> Heavens Above, and you might be able to work out which satellites you saw.

    il try that thanks..mad to think theres so many satellites and general junk that its so visible from earth...wasnt like that years ago.

    Quite a few up there indeed. You can get a good idea of the number up there from here, it's pretty decent.

    Ah it's been like that for a while though. I remember taking a boating trip on the Shannon when I was twelve (about 14 years ago now) and the sky was so dark that you could see everything at night.

    I was utterly fascinated by how many points of light you could see darting across the sky during the evening. There's been a lot of junk up there for quite some time!

    Although maybe when you say "years ago" you're talking decades. I have no idea how old you are. ;)
