Say if i start working in a job.

Unemployed up to say July 20th.

I work from July 20th to December 31st.

My yearly salary is say 25k

So i earn like 12k for the year.

Do i pay barely any tax on this 12k or am i taxed monthly similar to what i would have been taxed if i started earning on January 1st and earned 25k in the full year.

Say Deloitte Calculater has this for if i worked the full year
    Annual Net Income €21,495.00
    TAX 3505

    but if only 12k
    Annual Net Income €11,721.00
    TAX 379

I am PAYE normal worker with normal credits.

So long as your case is just as above you would be taxed on a cumulative basis which is the normal basis of taxation. So you would get full credits and rate band from the start of the year. A single person with standard credits can earn 16500 in the without paying PAYE.

Also if you were in receipt of Jobseekers benefit which is taxable, this would affect the tax amount due in your employment as your rate band and credits would be reduced by that amount.
