Something I've been wondering for a bit, might be a couple of stupid questions but:

    a) Why don't owners look at buying horses in France more often than the sales in England? For example from the Arqana sales here's a couple I've looked at for cheap prices (I'm no thoroughbred expert at any stretch BTW) -
Ca Me Dit - by Keltos + Lettre de Lunre ( 2yo - one raced, third, won €3655 - sold for €2500.)

    Dessa - by Libbrettist + Compromise - (2yo - one race, 5l behind a horse who went on to place in G3 - prizemoney - €1183 - sold for €1500.)

I'm not saying these are world beaters by any stretch of the imagination, but some of the horses on sale here would surely be better than picking up class 6 plodders that are on sale in Britain?

Also, with prizemoney seemingly much better in France than in Britain - would it not be better for trainers to have a satellite stable in France that they could send horses to at certain times of the year or just full-time?
