Im hoping to pour my garage floor soon (weather permitting) and as it will be a finished floor in hoping to get as good a finish as possible. I was going to Powerfloat it which I have been told helps prevents cracks and leaves a great finish. Im a Mechanic so i will be using the garage quite a bit, so im keen to get it right. Anyone any tips on ensuring good results? Thanks in advance. p.s- 100mm/ 35n concrete...

Have 500g plastic on standby to cover floor - get size to suit. Silage cover good. If heavy rain comes? cover. When floor hardens cover for seven days.
    1. 40N/mm2 Ready-mix only.
    2. Slump 50-90
    3. Exposure class XF4
    4. Have plenty of help. Experienced
Let concrete guys know your requirements early.

    1. Hire new power float.
    2. Timing is everything for power floating.
Start work early morning 7.00am. Power-floating may not finish till late.

    Good Luck.

40n Concrete? I thought that 35n was doing it a bit o.t.t! would you recommend mesh? Have some left over from house. Thanks

You want the hardest floor possible. Spanners dropping/trolley wheels etc. Source good practical advice. Steel would be good.

40n will also dry faster so you wont have to wait around as long. when screeding it make sure its spot on as if there is a small low spot it is hard to get them trowled with the powerfloat.
