    Hello all

Im looking to buy a car and unfortunately the specific car im after is not available in Ireland, so I have to buy the car in the UK

I bought my last car in the UK myself, but to be honest, I dont have the time or cant deal with the hassle of that now

The car im looking for is not a fancy car or anything, its just a normal car

    My question is :

Is there any companies/individuals one could engage to check the validity and road worthiness of a car in the UK and then get the car from the UK to Ireland ??

I should have said in my opening post that I have tried the car dealerships, none of them can be arsed importing on my behalf.

To get a decent, reliable overview of the car you really need to get an AA motorcheck. Then get a separate company (who just transport cars, rather than check them over) to bring it across the water.
Having said that it will usually work out cheaper to just get the AA check done and travel over to collect it yourself....unless both you and the car are located on the Car Transporters normal route.

I have a shed load of satisfied clients I have done all this kind of sourcing/vetting work for, and I'm decent, and relaible.......but hey, everyone's an expert - and what would i know, I only do this stuff for a living.:D

We've been looking around a few dealers lately and I was actually surprised to see how many of them import UK cars now, one of the reasons given is that it's hard to get good second hand cars these days due to the scrappage schemes over the last couple of years. People who would normally change have already done so into new cars so will be hanging onto them for a few years yet.

I was initially suspicious but it seems to be common enough now.

I was simply replying to the OP's question Midlands. If you look at the time I posted you will see that it was only a minute or two after you posted your reply.
I only saw your reply after I posted mine ( as I was typing mine as you were posting).
I'm sure you provide a great service and as explained I was not knocking you.
