So i am back on the dole again and in the situation of either looking for work or finding a suitable course.

I have worked mainly in customer service , retail and food and drink preparation. Also some call center work for banking 365 and two years in Smurfit Kappa working in the design and sales area.

So i am wondering what next?

I am 26 years of age and i really don't want to keep having to settle for going back to basic retail jobs in places where im really not being treated with any respect or furthering my career prospects.

I know things are not ideal and there's limited options out there right now job wise but any chance at all to been given the chance to make a stable career for my self or even be trained to work in a better area i will jump at!!.

I am just unsure where to start because in the past i have tried agency's recruitment websites etc.. and a lot of the time it leads to no where.

Any ideas or advice where i should start?

Any help at all would be great! :)

If there's any information i have not given that would help the situation please ask me as i am very keen to make something of my self i just need a push in the right direction.

    Thank you :D

OK, you have a fairly varied work history, which aspect did you really enjoy/gave you a buzz?

What qualifications do you already have?

I loved working for Smurfit i enjoyed the people i was working with and felt like i was actually needed made me feel really good about myself which a lot of jobs in the past didn't. Just helped being around more important people and working in a nicer environment.

I like working with people and most of the time with the public.
Ive always wanted to work in some kinda customer service area of computers or technology. I find myself standing in game shops or computer shops listening to a member of staff dealing with customers thinking god i could do that so much better :pac:

I have up as far as my junior cert i left school in 5th year.

I have a fetac level 3 consumer awareness course and a level 5 customer service course which both covered a fair amount.

Ideally you need a Major Award at Level 5. It normally takes 1 and a half years. Something that includes ICT and customer care.

There are some fantastic courses out there, and I've seen one or two in development for roll out in October that would suit you perfectly.
    Are you in Dublin?
