Bit red faced after running Ccleaner!

    So I ran ccleaner and didn't adjust any settings as I've run it grand before and now afterwards I cannot get on to the likes of twitter or facebook. Every other site works fine. I'm trying in chrome and firefox.

    It's giving me back that (lovely and vague) dns error.

    "DNS lookup failed error"

    I've rebooted the router, made sure my wireless settings are set to automatically detect and also tried to flushdns again.

    Is there anything else I can try as this is annoying me now! Thanks a mil.

    Open a command prompt and type in

    ping www.facebook.com
    tracert www.facebook.com

    ping 66.220.149.11
    tracert 66.220.149.11

    See if it gets through, or where it drops if it doesn't.

    Pinging the site and IP I get "unable to resolve target system name". But a ping of the ip and the tracert of the ip works. Tried to put the ip in the address bar but it didn't load up.

    couple of people have reported problems getting to facebook and twitter in the last hour :confused:

    Sounds like a DNS problem on their end so, nothing you can do.

    I've been getting a few DNS errors today for Facebook too

    Yeah it's back up! Just bad timing on my part thinking I've borked up my system.
