I doubt there is one tbh. Most studios insist on Silverlight cause of its DRM properties before licensing the movies

Seems a bit ridiculous that they wont release it for linux, the only option i am left with is TPB , Funny how they kick up a fuss about Copyright infringement but don't actually provide any legal alternative.

As much sense as it would make, Linux OSs count for under 2% of browser market share which would put it pretty low on their priorities

Use a virtual machine to run windows in Linux and it will work fine for you.

I understand that but 2% market share = 2,5 million users at least (ubuntu claim 10 million users world wide). The roku media player run's the linux kernel so it will work with linux, seems to me like they think FOSS user's wont/don't want to pay for anything which is kind of funny considering they are the biggest contributors to the humble Indy bundles and kickstarter projects that promise linux ports. So that's at least 2.5 million potential customers for netflix.

The AppleTV has a tiny market share, and yet it has a Netflix app.

I'd presume the app was largely written by Apple; but I'm sure there would be lots of people/nerds who'd love to write the requisite code for Netflix to work on Linux. I'd guess the problem is there's no commercial entity pushing Linux that's interested in getting Netflix on the platform. So Netflix have no one to partner with, and Microsoft (if the problem is Silverlight) have no incentive to promote a rival platform.

You can run XP with a 2gb partition.

    have you tried this? http://www.mono-project.com/Moonlight

edit: did a quick search and apparently it doesn't work due to not supporting DRM. At a quick glance it appears running windows through a virtual machine appears to be the less then ideal, but only real way to get it working. Would you even consider having a bare bones XP install as a seperate partition?
