As in, if I take a FETAC Level 5 course that has no progression to a third level college, can I still use the FETAC points awarded to gain entry to a different course?

    Course in question http://www.qualifax.ie/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=15

The progression is to another Level 6 course in the same college. If I wanted to, could I just use the grades at the end of the year to go to a different course in an IT or Uni? I hope you guys understand :)

    Thanks!

I am also quite curious as to how FETAC qualifications can be used to assist applications.

Depending on the course, some may accept ANY fetac award with at least 3 distinctions in modules, some may also accept any award but with distinctions in certain modules and some require you to have a certain type of fetac award in order to progress to a third level.

    Have a look at this:

    http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/fetac_search.php

Select the university you are interested in and you will see fetac requirements for different courses.
