Looking to buy a new system as my old one is about 8 years old. She's served me well but I think it's time for something new.

I'm wondering if the XPS 8500 is worth a punt? I am willing to spend anything up to 4k on a new system and monitor.

I have no interest in a gaming PC but I would still like a good graphics card etc...also I'm looking for a very silent running system if possible.

What do ye think of an XPS or can ye recommend something better? Also whats the best monitor out there these days? Needs to be full HD etc etc but price isn't an issue

    Fire away :)

You'll be buying from these guys, they'll build it for ya for €20 if you're not up for doing it yourself. By far cheapest place to buy anyway.

Have you thought about Building a pc.. It usually works out cheaper and in addition you can customise it to exactly what you need. And its a learning experience building it or if that's not an option Hardwareversand the place recommed by a lot here for €20 will put it together for you..

.4k is a lot to spend on a pc..you could prob drop half that and get an absolute beast unless you have soecific needs that need specialised GPUs

What will it be used for..
Also if you go to the building and upgrading forum and fill out form ( using my phone can't link ATM) and someone will post a Pontial build and you can compare price and performance wise to the dell you are thinking

Edit: damn beat to it :D what he said

Thanks for the links and suggestions lads. As suggested I should probably try the PC Builds forum. Never thought about going down the self build route as I would have some knowledge but not enough to complete the task.

I'll try the other forum and see what they say.

    Cheers

edit* Opened another thread in the PC building forum - close this one if necessary thanks
