    Hi guys.
I was reading up on cerec crowns.
    What's your opinion on them?
Does anyone do them in Dublin?

    Thanks

Ah OS there not that bad, tend to only be all ceramics so on back teeth in some patients they are not suitable. The aesthetics are getting better but still not as good as indirect crowns. Not into them myself, but some dentists report great results.

    Thanks fitzg.

I won't comment on OS post.

My wife is looking at going to a dentist for a premolar. Needs a root canal and am looking at a crown as well.

The fact that they have no metal us a disadvantage for durability. Any other disadvantages.
Is there anyone in Dublin who does them?

A cerec crown is not the strongest crown going, an indirect crown even in all ceramic will be stronger, however a crown only need to be as strong as it need to be. Your dentist can judge if all milled ceramic is good. Having said that, I wouldnt have a cerec in my mouth, for the price of them I would want a nice pressed ceramic crowns or metal ceramic, even the emax cerec because of the milling, and despite furnace glaze never get to the temperatures needed to remelt the glass and microcracks are evident, very reliant on the bonding then to heal the cracks....any techo babble asside, cerec are fine, but I wouldnt go chasing one.

My wife is going home to Slovakia for 5 weeks and plans getting a root canal and crown done.
The guy specialises in cerec but she can ask about indirect crowns.
She doesn't have the same time constraints as dental tourists.
