    You have additional non paye income from the farming which has to be returned so depending on the level of income, that's a form 12 or form 11 to complete.
    Also did you de-register as self employed when you stopped being a sole trader.

    Thanks.
    No i didn't De-register, Well i did De-register for the vat only, my accountant is telling me i should not De-register as it will only draw attention to myself & that accounts are good to have when applying for mortgage etc.
    But maybe that's like Benson & hedges telling people that smoking is good for ya smile.gif
    Tho i think they said its not compulsory for me to do returns??
    "I dont know"

    If you are being issued with returns to complete then its compulsory for you to complete them. Ring your local self assessing section and advise them of your situation and ask is it necessary for you to keep filing. Use the contact locator on the Revenue website to get the number.

    Two things to note;
    1 if you have a farm loss you could offset it against paye income and maybe get a refund
    2 if you have a herd number tgen the department of agriculture has your pps number on record!
