I have a problem... replaced a leaking heatercore on my skoda octavia recently, the work although very time consuming went quite well until I reconnected the hoses to the new heater core.... they started leaking like crazy...
These are press fit plastic fittings that have a wire snap ring....Im not sure if they are even meant to be re-used.....

The pesky hose connections Im having problems with are at 54 seconds on this video

Had considered using some RTV sealant.....Any ideas lads?

I'm not overly familiar with the VW ones, but i'd guess the o-ring in them has got brittle/hard and didn't seal correctly when you pushed them back on.

Check to see if VW sell the o-rings separately, if not take out the old o-ring and go to a motor factors (or even the likes of Abbey seals in dublin) and they will sort you out.

A little bit of silicon grease on the new o-rings will help them seat correctly when your pushing them back on.

Good job. You'll see sets of o-rings being sold in aldi/lidl for like €5, worth while picking up one for jobs like this...
