MCPD or MCSD?

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this for me??
I'm a Software Engineer (mainly web) with 5+ years experience but was looking to get some Certifications to beef up my CV. Especially now I'm considering contracting.
I was going to go down the MCTS -> MCPD certification route but it says on the Microsoft site most of the Visual Studio 2010 exams will retire by June 2013..
Does this just mean a newer version of VS will be out then and I would just need to upgrade? Or are the certifications themselves being retired and replaced by the new MCSD exams??

In which case it will be pointless starting the MCTS exams and I should just wait for the MCSD exams to be released?
