Probably an A3. Just be aware that some brands shrink a lot less than others.

It can depend on the brand. You're far better in an A2 than A3 though in most Gi's i've worn

I'm 5'6" and any Gi i've ever worn has been A2

Ideally best to try on a used 1 off someone you know but if your going by the height I'd definitely go with A3.

OP I agree with the above, I'm 6'2" and I wear an A3 which is just on the edge of being competition legal. A slim fitting A3 would be my advice.

I'm similar height and weight and the 1st gi I bought was an A3 (although it was a Judo one but was miles 2 big and baggy, even after shrinking a little).

    I then got a Tatami A2 and it's perfect!

Lose some weight and get yourself into an A1. I know an 80kg 6ft guys who wears an A2. It varies depending on the gi.

Like you said, best to train on a training partners, and go with that

I'm the same height and weight and it does depend on the brand and how your going to wash and dry them, but apart from that A2 is the going to be the best fit.

A1 is way to small on the arms lenght wise, A2 Is not even too long and fitted me fine when i was 60kg, A3 is just too long on the sleeves for me.

Any advice most appreciated as I am an awkward size... 6 foot and 100kg - my torso is quite big so not sure if I need to mix and match - 46" chest, 36" waist and 32" legs (length). I have a Judo Gi but the legs are too long and they catch under my feet.

Can you mix and match or would I be an A3?

    I'd say an A3.

Some sites let you mix and match.

anyone have any experience with a Blitz Sport Lutador Pro Gi?

    Kind of stuck between these:

    Blitz Sport Lutador

    Tatami Nova

    Tatami Estilo

    Gameness Pearl

    Fuji

    Manto

Finally, is there any issue with a Black Gi? I have heard that some places can be quite stringent and only allow a White or Blue?

A guy I know had a Blitz gi and I dont think he was too thrilled with it.. Might be worth searching for a few reviews before you part with the money. I've seen loads of black gi's at comps and nothing was said so Im sure it'd be fine.

Tatami estilo best of the bunch

Manto seem like they are high quality. The Tatami Estilo 3 is really good quality, especially for the price. I've a Shoyoroll gi and the Estilo isn't far off in terms of quality (my opinion).
