Not in modern history I'd imagine and I don't think it ever will be the case. Not because we are alcoholics but because your question is odd.

Has there ever been a time everyone in Ireland was awake? or asleep? or warm?

No no, it was 5pm and it was a Wednesday. I distinctly recall it on account of being sober.

Has there, or will there ever be a time when everyone in any country on earth is sober?

Even in the holiest of holy islamic countries there are people currenly out of their minds on illicit hooch.

People are less likely to be drunk in modern times too, from the last century back many people drank alcohol instead of water and spent the vast majority of their time pissed.

I wouldn't say there's been a time in any countries history where everyone has been sober. Even in the ones where it's banned. :pac: Except for possibly America prior to alcohol being introduced. They had peyote instead though......

We love our boozy reputation and live up to it when the world is watching - Euro 2012, Paddys Day. Everyone is talking about higher prices for alcohol etc right now after the SHM concert but it'll pass and we'll keep wagging the finger while revelling in our image when we get the chance. Nothing will change.

No, it's the f**king Polish/blacks/japs/hated country people that ruin Ireland for the Irish.
