Let me start by saying that this is not a promotion for my golf club but it is something I am trying to promote on behalf of a charity with a classic there later this week.

Moate Golf Club (Co. Westmeath) are host to a very important 'Golf Classic' on July 13th / 14th (Friday and Saturday) in aid of a very special little boy, Tadgh Carroll.

20 months old Tadgh is from nearby Doon in Co. Offaly and has been diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC). AHC currently has no known cure and there are limited medical options available. 'Friends of AHC Syndrome Co Ltd' have been set up as a charitable company with the aim of raising funds to provide research into the condition and will also support an Irish branch of the AHC Foundation.

You can help support this very worthy cause by contacting Bernard Farrell on 085 1741896 and booking a team of 4 (€100 per team) for Friday or Saturday next.

Apparently there was a really good turn out for this on Friday. Playing Saturday afternoon myself so hopefully the weather will be ok and another good crowd will turn out to play for Tadgh.
