4E3007 Thomson box-Can your card still be activated in one of these?

Folks, I have had one of these boxes for about five years. Bought it independently and after a couple of years it gave psu trouble. I got that fixed but in the meantime I had got a practically unused pace sky plus box off someone and just got used to its trouble free superb performance! The hd box has been used as a ftv box and is working grand.

I was half thinking of getting my account switched back to the hd box to avail of rte2 hd and the likes of bbc one hd etc but not getting the hd pack.

As these boxes are seemingly being phased out(they will not get the new EPG so I assume that is the case) does anyone have any info on the following-

-Will sky activate the card in one of these boxes still?

-how long is it likely a service will be provided to this box?

    thanks

    -

No HD pack = no RTE 2 HD

RTE TWO is on 227 with sd pack you don't need HD pack to view

Indeed. I had the misfortune of being able to see even more of Dunphy's wrinkles :D

Thanks. And because this box will not get the new epg, should it still keep working for the foreseable future etc..?

All Sky digital boxes still work, I often use ones that are 10years+ old to activate cards.

I was just wondering why people in the uk with these boxes were being offered upgrades to boxes that get the new epg. I assumed that would mean these boxes may be defunct?
