Playstation 3 External Hard Drive Question

    Hi,

    Is it possible to make a HD portable external hard drive work on a ps3?
    My laptop is in getting fixed and I have media on the hard drive I'd like to be able to view on the PS3. Most of the the files are MP4 and WMV. Would I have to downlaod a media player on the ps3?

    Any help appreciated,

    Only if it is formatted to FAT32. Formatting to FAT32 will wipe the drive so don't do this unless you have the content backed up
