Genuine Multikwik in Dublin?

    Hello,

We took out the toilet to allow the tiler to tile under it and when we fit it back in the 90 degree multikwik, model MKB2190, is now too short to reach the soil pipe extending from the floor (plywood and tile). Arguably it was always a bit short as the top of the ribbed section was still visible but we've only just bought the house second hand.

So I go to a variety of places, including Chadwick's, looking for a new one but they don't stock the branded one. Issue is that the type they all sell has a breadth (from rear of toilet to back of pipe of c 16cm, whereas the branded one is only 13cm.

So if I use the new one the cistern is about 2-3cm from the wall. Can't move pipe in floor as it has been tiled around and is rigid. Don't want to use a really flexi pipe as it will be seen side on and when left exposed they get very dirty.

Does anyone know where I'll get the branded multikwik in Dublin, model MKB3190 is the longer version of the one I need to fit the Shires open back toilet I have.

If your multi wick is too short and you dont want to use a flexi one why dont you just extend the pipe out. All you need to do is ad a collar and pce of pipe.

Yes, I was thinking about this, but I'd like it to be neat as it is quite exposed. The toilet is open-backed and side-on as you walk in the door of the en-suite.

The soil pipe is fairly flush with the floor. All I could see when I looked around local hardware was a straight "coupling" that went around the outside of the soil pipe. I thought this might create risk of a leak seeing as there is very little of the soil pipe above floor level, as well as it being a bit bulky.

Is that what you mean by a collar and pipe? I'd prefer something that fitted inside the soil pipe, like a multiwik extension. Do you know equally where I would get something like in the link that I can cut? That would work, but it's a bit messy.

or what I was originally asking about

I'm surprised that the 90 degree connectors that all our hardware places seem to sell have different dimensions. To use them in this case, either the pipe needs to be closer to the back wall or the spigot further from the back wall, neither of which I can do. And the space saver version won't cover the spigot/avoid the skirting.

Excel industries in coolmine do multiwicks that can be cut. They dont sell direct but they do sell through woodies. You can phone them and ask where you would get there multiwicks.

Why don't u just get a short straight multiwick to " extend" 90 degree one?

You can get multikwik extension pieces in most plumbing providers ,

    This would solve your problem

mcalpine have a longer 90 degree multiwik than most it will work. the mcalpine product manual may have its full range with the lengths shown also. pick the one you need then get the code and give the sales man that info.
