    Is there most of a difference in running cost between a 2L & 2.5L diesel car?

    Not that much extra.

    On the older tax system an extra €25/month tax and not that much extra on diesel. What 2 engines are you thinking of?

    Two many factors to give any sort of answer to that IMO.

    Depends on car brand/type/engine model/driving style/type of driving etc etc.

    If we're talking about pre 08 then tax is the biggest difference. Other then that, in certain situations, the larger engine could be more economical then the smaller one.

    what is your budget and yearly mileage op? the below just came up on donedeal, looks nice... the 6 cylinder will be nicer and smoother, but is an older engine and will have less resale value. Also a remapped 520d would be a good bit faster...

    My yearly mileage would b round 12,000 miles. Looks like I was 2 late on the done deal car as its sold, thanks anyway. I'm in no panic to buy one.
