Cartell equivalent for heavy plant?

    Folks,

Is there an equivalent for Cartell as regards searching for histories on heavy plant equipment? I've to head up to Meath (Nobber) this evening to look at a few Cat front loaders (a 966D and 936E).

Anyway, there's no website for the fella that's selling them and his only contact appears to be a mobile number. He could be the most genuine guy in the world but there's a fair whack of money involved (€35K) so I'd like to double check the machines if it's possible.

These are going for export to the middle east and I'm just looking at them for my Dad as he can't make it back to view them.

    Any thoughts?

    This gets curiouser and curiouser!

Apparently the guys selling the loaders now don't want the sale to go ahead. They're saying that if they had know that someone was going to inspect the machines they would've submitted a different quote or none at all.

    Seems rather dodgy indeed.

Can a Mod advise if I can put up the name of the company to see if anyone else has dealt with them?

Put the name up but post any negative opinions privately direct to the OP.

The UK has CESAR, don't know whether it covers here as well - http://www.cesarscheme.org/

The name of the company is Machine Export Ireland. I'm not sure if they're based in Nobber or just if the machines are there. The bank they want to use for the money transfer is based in Waterford.

Sounds a bit dodgy al right, who in their right mind would spend 35000 without inspecting the equipment,i wouldn't spend 350 euro without wanting to see what i'm buying.

We pulled the plug on the whole thing. Sounded too good to be true and the guys on the phone seemed well dodgy!
