Would you grab one of these deals?

A Curreys/Dixons type chain store here in Spain are clearing white macbooks (2.4, 250g, 2g) for 800 euros and various ipad 2 models (one that caught my eye was the 64gig wi-fi for 500 euros). They are all boxed and appear to be just old stock, possibly gathered up from some of their other stores.

I'm tempted by the macbook as I want a secondary machine (not a MB Air type) for music djing software. As the pros are now selling at 1250 here and 1300 (I think) in Ireland, the white macbook seems a good deal.

Curious would others prefer a new out of the box but end-of-life white macbook or use the 800 for a second hand machine?

White MB is 2 years old (at least) not worth 800 euro imo.

Yeah, it is the mid 2010 model.

I wouldn't consider it a bargain, rather the right price for a 2 year old and now discontinued model. You'd probably get a better discount on a newer machine by keeping an eye on the refurb store. The latter Plasticbooks were bad value anyway IMO.
