    I want to know if anybody has encountered this problem with vw passat 2006. Recently when I tried to start the vw passat it started then died immediatly. This would happened 2 to 6 times, then ran no bother. I brought it to a garage who put it on diagnostics and was told the ignition switch was faulty and needed replacement. One thing bothered me was that every time it occured the pre-heater( glow plug ?) indicator would appear on the dash display. Does the switch need replacement or is the preheater faulty. I need advice on this as I believe a new switch is €400-€500.
