Split pole

Went camping on Friday and pitched the tent in the lashing rain. In frustration at struggling to pin one of the poles I yanked it a little hard and the bottom section of the pole split where it inserts in to the section above it. It was a stormy night and the tent stayed up ok but next day the split had moved down the section - it's not completely split but it's not in great shape. I taped it up with insulation tape (best I could find) for added support.

Where (in Dublin) could I get it repaired or get a replacement (or a repair kit if there is such a thing) to string on myself. It's a Gelert Marbella 6 family tent. I'd have no aversion to getting a hacksaw to shorten a section that's too long but how would I string them together?

    Thanks in advance.

Gelert sell replacement pole sets on their website - find the set that matches your broken pole (they come in different width and lengths).

a large camping store may have them in stock, but i'd be prepared to have to get it shipped from Gelert. if your tent is no longer being sold/produced, and by some margin, you may have to contact Gelert to see if they've got any spares floating around - you may also have to look at using a generic part if the originals are no longer available...

Popped in to PortWest today and they'll replace the split section for me for 2 or 3 euro.

    Thanks guys.
