Brilliant character actor - The Dirty Dozen, From Here To Eternity, Emperor Of the North, The Wild Bunch and loads more . I was never too gone on Marty though.

Used to love watching his stuff growing up. Was one of those actors you saw everywhere and was around forever (Well, 60+ years anyways)

An interview from April, he was looking quite lively for a 95 year old here:

Loved him in the Simpsons. On seeing ned and homer take the wrong turn on the raft "Hey, where's the sissy and the bald guy going"? LOL :D

He was excellent as the bad guy in Bad Day At Black Rock, too. Here he is getting knocked about by Spencer Tracy, whose character has only one good arm:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    RIP Ernest

Loved his hearty laugh as Dom in Airwolf. Would not have seen him in many of his earlier films but as mentioned earlier loved his guest appearance in The Simpsons
