im looking to find a few good par 3 courses to play around the country.ive played a few courses before but all seem to have several small boring holes just there to make up the number.would love to play a course where everyhole is like a par 3 on a proper golf course

+1 to Glen Mill. All good par 3, interesting fun and no 2 holes the same, a good tough test too.

The Par 3 in Swords is decent.

Just had a look at Glen Mill there and it looks a cracker.
If you're willing to travel, Balla Par 3 Golf Course in Mayo is a good par 3.

Not as much water as Glen Mill and and 4-5 of the holes are a bit average, apart from that its a really enjoyable round.

No website but they have a facebook page where you'll find a few photos

the heritage, super par 3 course with proper grade greens, everything from 100 yards to 200 yards. A proper test of the short game

Stepaside Public 9 hole course is quite nice for beginners, also there's a par 3 across the road. I use to play the par 3 but I find the public course better

(I'm still very much a beginner)

I've played the par 3 course a few times but never the 9 hole. Is it busy up there at weekends?

Julianstown isn't too bad. It's actually a bit longer than par 3. The first hole is a par 4 for starters but generally a very short course. I'd say the place suffers with Bellewstown just down the road not to mention L&B.

Kinda hit and miss, but not overly, they like it when you ring beforehand but Ive never had to wait that long to play - 30 min or so. Its very friendly and a good course to advance to after playing the par 3.

Agreed. 18 varied holes all kept in excellent condition.

I'll 2nd that, on the Kilmuckridge road about 3 miles out of Blackwater.
Couple of short holes, 3rd & 4th, but everything else is a 100 to 190 yards.
Don't trust the yardages, play what you think, not what the card says.

Didn't want to make a new thread though it may be more beneficial.

Wondering does anyone in the Galway/Roscommon/Westmeath area know is the par 3 in Thomastown(old Ballinasloe/Athlone road) still open?.

I played there probably last summer but they don't seem to have any online presence so I cant attain a phone number or anything.
That's generally not a good sign but there would normally exist older material so maybe they never had a presence.

As an alternative I'm not wondering if anyone's played Woodview or Ballymore?
