I went to get my tyres checked yesterday at Butler Tyres in Harolds Cross and the guy who checked them reckoned three were due replacement. I'll be replacing all four. He was looking for 110 per corner for Pace tyres (seem to be Chinese brand) for 225/50/R16.

My spare is a nearly new or new Dunlop SP Sport 01 215/55/R16 93Y. The tyres I'm replacing are Falken Ziex ZE912 225/50/R16 96V. I checked Eiretyres and I can get these for about 110 each. I would then have to pay for fitting.

If I buy three the same as the spare can I keep my front right as a spare? When I did my RAC check when buying the car they said that having the spare a different size was a problem. Also, it seems like my spare is a lower profile than my other tyres, will this cause problems with comfort/handling?

I think I will go to McManus in Drogheda or to Newry to buy the tyres.
