    hi

I am getting a walker combo box fitted with Hard Drive attached for recording saorview/freesat. I wondered if anyone knows if I unplugged the hard drive would I be able to watch the recorded programmes on an ordinary laptop? I am thinking recording episodes of kids programmes and then showing them on laptop to kids on say lonf drive!

    many thks

There are some STBs that are problematic according to threads in boards ..... Triax,Tower or Xoro I recall being mentioned.

I don't have a Walker box ..... you should post the exact model so you can hear from others who have that same model.

the walker combo is the 645ts-hd. The triax, xoro and tower boxes are generic digital terrestrial receivers that also have mheg5 engines, not combos.

As for original question. Couldn't get walker recordings to play or convert on PC. The triax tsc114 saorview combo recordings played for me in media player classic so it looks like even though it probably isn't a huge issue for the majority of folks, the tsc114 wins this round, currently anyway

So the Walker box can be added to the list of problematic STBs in this regard, it seems.
